Course Outline

The Diploma of Theology by Distance requires 16 units to be completed, as a mixture of the following:
  1. Core Units
  2. Supervised Experience-Based Learning
  3. Ministry & Practice Electives
Core Units
Core units cover areas of biblical studies, Christian doctrine and church history. All candidates must complete the following ten units to qualify for the Diploma of Theology:
  • OT201 Formative Old Testament Traditions
  • OT202 From Israel to Judea
  • NT201 Content and Setting of the Gospel Tradition
  • NT202 Early New Testament Church
  • OT205 Genesis, Deuteronomy, Samuel
  • NT207 Selected letters of the Pauline Corpus and the Book of Revelation
  • TH210 The doctrine of God and the Person and Work of Christ
  • TH211 The Holy Spirit, Grace and Hope
  • CH201 The Church to 1550
  • CH202 The Church from 1550 to Modern Times
Guided Spiritual Formation

To complete the Timothy Partnership program, all candidates must enrol in PC249 Guided Spiritual Formation. This unit is split into four 1 credit point components completed in the first four semesters of enrolment in the program. PC249 helps students integrate their academic study with their ministry practice and personal Christian life.

  • DM241/DM242 Youth Ministry/Children's Ministry Field Education
