Course Outline
The Diploma of Theology by Distance requires 16 units to be completed, as a mixture of the following:
Core Units
Core units cover areas of biblical studies, Christian doctrine and church history. All candidates must complete the following ten units to qualify for the Diploma of Theology:- OT201 From Beginnings to Elijah (ACT Title: Formative Old Testament Traditions)
- OT202 Judgement and Restoration (ACT Title: From Israel to Judea)
- NT201 The gospel in the Gospels (ACT Title: Content and Setting of the Gospel Tradition)
- NT202 Acts and Epistles (ACT Title: Early New Testament Church)
- OT205 Genesis, Deuteronomy, Samuel
- NT207 Selected letters of the Pauline Corpus and the Book of Revelation
- TH210 God, Jesus and the Bible (The doctrine of God and the Person and Work of Christ)
- TH211 The Holy Spirit, Grace and Hope
- CH201 The Church to 1550
- CH202 The Church from 1550 to Modern Times
Supervised Experience-Based Learning
To complete the Timothy Partnership program, all candidates must enrol in PC249 Supervised Experienced Based Learning. This unit is split into four 1 credit point components completed in the first four semesters of enrolment in the program. PC249 helps students integrate their academic study with their ministry practice and personal Christian life.
